When did The Watchtower stop calling Rutherford "Judge"?
by VM44 inthe watcthower used to call rutherford "judge rutherford" in its articles.. for years though when directly referencing him, the watchotwer calls him "brother rutherford" and leaves out the title "judge".. if quoting someone's personal story and that person uses "judge rutherford", then the watchtower will leave that in the article, but they will not use the title on their own.. so, when did the watchtower stop calling rutherford "judge"?.
...and why did they stop doing so?.

The arrogant power playing opportunist insisted that the title be used, it helped to upgrade his social stature
and appear taller in the community.
Didn't seemed to help his popularity though from what I've read.
I think the upper class cronies at the WTS. most likely addressed him that way, probably up to his death.

There are some definitely old staid traditions involved with the inauguration of the President and I'm sure they would be hard and
troublesome to change if somone wanted to. The president still has to keep in mind his popularism within his colleagues.
One thing to note is all of those prayers during GW inauguration didn't help GW administration the least, maybe the States
isn't god's chosen country after all.
I don't think God liked GW

And people wonder why religions like the JWS discourage science and higher education, isn't the answer obvious.
If ignorance and fear can directly help and support an organization, then it will.
Reasoning and logic are instruments of the devil

The Bible really should be named " Chronicles of Human Ignorance " to be honest and truthful.
I'll e-mail that sugestion to HQ of the WTS.

"But there are always new ones coming in"
by Farkel inif you've read, seen and heard as many sickening statements uttered by watchtower leaders as i have, you'll probably agree you tend to get jaded by them after a while:.
russell claiming his books were more important than the bible.
rutherford boasting that armageddon coming in 1925 was as certain as the flood of noah and virtually "indisputable.".

Good point Farkel and a important one, the organization always had strategic strategy to cull people toward them
and then utilizing them as subjective employees. This strategy of theirs might be considered immoral, unjust and quite unscrupulous
but nevertheless what organization like this doesn't run on their own self serving and devised rules ?
Why do they do this is a simple answer its a formula that acts as a supportive base , it keeps the people who have the power to maintain
that power, also to financially support the organization. Quite simply if there wasn't a revolving door in place of new comers
coming in as the acknowledged ones that leave, this organization would probably have collapsed years ago.
In reality most religious organizations that are similar as the JWS operate with a certain level of corruption to maintain itself,
its in the operational manual.

What would be the iceburg to the WT's Titanic?
by wobble inthe illustration in my question was inspired by the great mr flipper who likened going back to the borg as "swimming back to the titanic".
it seems to me that the many and various things that woke us all up are like iceflows to the wtbs, little bumps that they shrug off and ignore,it dosn't seem to matter that these things are huge to us,and shattered our faith that the wt had any connection with truth.. so as the u.n debacle, peadophile scandals, lies exposed etc etc are all ignored by the passengers on the wt titanic, the band is still playing and the ship is unsinkable from their point of view.. what would be the iceburg that would rip a hole in the side of this floating ship of lies?.
i cannot think of anything bigger than the things it now shrugs off,any ideas?.

Problems with the Bible flood story
1) The story of Noah in the bible is based on an earlier legend. The Epic of Gilgamesh was written by the Sumerians long before Genesis was written down. We have tablets dating as far back as 2000 BCE which contain portions of the Gilgamesh story, with the earliest surviving record of the flood dating to 1900 BCE. The Old Testament of the Bible was not pulled together until about 600 BCE from primarily oral tradition, and the oldest surviving versions of the old testament are even more recent than that.
There is little question that the Hebrew story is based on the Sumerian/Babylonian story, as the Hebrews, even according to the bible, came from this region and their language is descended from Akadian, spoken by the ancient Babylonians and in which the most complete existing version of the Gilgamesh legend is written.
Instead of Noah, we have Utnapishtim. Instead of a single god, we have *many* gods. But the basic story of building a boat, taking the animals on, letting birds out to find land, and even the rainbow are all elements captured in this earlier book.
The point being, the Hebrews probably took this story into their oral tradition, over many years it was changed, and it wound up in Genesis. We see no reason to believe that the story in the bible is any more true than any other story in any other of the countless religious and mythological texts.
2) There is no evidence of a worldwide flood of the proportions described in any of the stories. If such a flood were to have taken place in the past 6,000 years, there would be a vast amount of geological evidence of such a flood. So far, there is no verifiable evidence in support of such a flood. The geologic evidence simply does not exist.
3) The story in the bible is impossible.
3a) For Noah and his sons to build such a boat, even given several hundred years, without modern manufacturing equipment would be impossible.
3b) Collecting two of each animal would be an equally impossible task (did Noah travel to Australia to pick up some kangaroos, or to Antarctica to grab some penguins?)
3c) The combined weight of the animals and the food to keep them all alive for over 100 days would cause such a wooden ship to collapse under its own weight.
3d) There wouldn’t even be enough time for Noah and his family to feed and shovel all the dung out of all the stalls of these tens of thousands of animals.
3e) There is the problem of the fresh-water fish surviving in the salt water (or the salt-water fish surviving in the fresh water, depending upon your definition of the flood)
3d) When the flood receded, how did the kangaroos get all the way back to Australia?
4) If you claim two of each species around today, the boat isn’t big enough. If you claim that there were certain “types” of animals, then there isn’t enough time for these “types” to speciate into the vast variety of species we see today.
5) A single pair of any animals is not enough to develop a significant population due to the inbreeding problem. Take a couple of hamsters and try this. After a couple dozen generations, the offspring will be sick and malformed due to this interbreeding

Biological physics and common sense.
and the fact that any calamitous event such as an earthquakes thunder and lightening, storms and the resulting floods etc.
were at one time all considered acts of god out his displeasure or anger.
A little acceptance of of human ignorance is important in the understanding of biblical stories.
